"Disney World is Your World" as transcribed from video tape by sunken@gate.net, and presented to the readers of R.A.D. This show played at the now-converted Tomorrowland Theatre between Carousel of Progress and Dreamflight. It's a musical journey through the Magic Kingdom, highlighting ride songs, as well as original songs, and some classics. All in all, it's one of the best performed shows at the Magic Kingdom. The cast is the Kids of the Kingdom, a singing and dancing group that performs in the Magic Kingdom. Unlike many theme parks where songs are presented where the vocal is recorded, the solos are live on stage, so the show is a bit different each time you see it. Again, I tried to be complete as I could in this transcription, however, some things on the tape are just impossible to make out. If any of the CM's at WDW or anyone who has a better tape than I do can fill in places between < > or can provide any corrections or additions, it would be most appreciated. Contributors' names will be added as authors to these scripts. Running Time: 24 minutes The show begins with the entire cast, 6 men and 6 women. The men are dressed in blue pants and shirt, with white tie and jacket. The woman in matching blue dresses with a white front. Cast sings: Disney World, Disney World... While they exit the stage, a lone soloist entertains us while still another outfit change. Thank you, thank you kindly You know, Frontierland makes us feel as if we were back to the days wild west. Where pioneers travelled the vast lands and rivers of our great country. Disney World is river country. On tom sawyers island, there's so much to see. Here in this magic of Disney World... Four cast members sit on the steps at stage right and sing, while two dancers perform a slow ballet style dance. I have to say, I thought this was quite breathtaking. The two CM's that danced it were especially good. Cast sings: Where's blow and fireflies glow and rivers flow. Oh shenandoah, I long to see to you. Far away, you old river Oh shenandoah, I long to see to you Away, I'm bound away, Across the wide Missouri A man dressed in a Kentucky Colonel outfit, approaches stage left and sings that immortal tune, "Old Man River" Male Solo: Old Man River, That Old Man River, He must know something, but he don't say nothing. Cast sings: Swanee, how I love ya... How I love ya... My dear old Swanee. I'd give the world to be, among the posies k-i-s-s-i-n-g. Mammy, swinging for me, praying for me. Down by the Swanee. The folks up north, will see me no more. When I get through that swanee, take me to the swanee. Take me down to that swanee... Our country singers return. The men have coonskin caps on. Men sing: He was the roughest toughest critter. Women sing: Never known to be quitter, Cast sing: Cause he never had no fear of man nor beast. Goofy enters stage right, wearing a cowboy outfit, which was the wrong stage, apparently from the way the singers acted. Men sing: Once he roped a raging cyclone out of nowhere. Then he straddled in and settled down with ease. While that cyclone lost it's footing Pecos rolled a smoke and lit it and he tamed that ornery wind down to a breeze. One of the girls hands Goofy a spinning lariat, but when he takes it, it stops. Poor Goofy. Then Chip and Dale, play the indians for the next verse. Cast sing: While the traveler prayed, the indians did a war dance. Pecos started shooting up their little game. He gave the redskins such a shakin That they jumped out of their bacon. And that's how the dancing got it's name. Yip-Ey-Yah, Yip-Ey-Aye-Oh. The roughest critter west of the Alamo. Pecos Bill is only the dreams and our fantasies, and our fantasies, we call them home. Light blue makes up the costumes. The stage turns to purple for the Fantasyland segment. Cast sing: Fantasy is a land here at Disney World. Where fantasy is just a smile away. It's a wonderous ride on a pirate ship It's a teacup spinning round. It's like being in a storybook. Where you can't stop turning down. Mickey and Minnie pull out a box, on which Dumbo the flying elephant sits on a box. Cast sing: To our Fantasy, a land here at Disney World. Where fantasies come true before your eyes. < I have no idea on this line > It's an elephant that flies. And Ichabod and Mr. Toad Will take you for a ride. Male Solo: Dream a dream that never really ends. Cast sings: Our very special friends. Cause fantasy is a land here at Disney World. A fun world, a small world after all... Two cast members pull Dumbo off the stage, and a short musical interlude takes place to the tune of Small World. Goofy is from Ireland, the chipmunks from China, and Pluto from Mexico. Then during a smoke screen that billows out from the ceiling, 6 cast members dressed in futuristic orange dresses and jumpsuits enter from both sides of the stage. During the song, the stage changes color several times to the beat. Cast Sings: To-Mor-Row Tomorrow To-Mor-Row Tomorrow To-Mor-Row Tomorrow To-Mor-Row Tomorrow Everything's going to be alright The future is the key, so bright The other 6 cast members join them on stage. To-Mor-Row Tomorrow To-Mor-Row Tomorrow Everything's going to be alright The future is the key, so bright All the plans we made today. Come our way. Tomorrow. Tomorrow. 6 cast members dance off stage to change for the final scene. To-Mor-Row Tomorrow To-Mor-Row Tomorrow All the plans we made today. Come our way. Tomorrow. Tomorrow. This is a great effect when it works properly. A thick smoke screen covers the stage, and when it clears, it appears that the CM's have changed clothes instantly, though you may notice they aren't the same 6 people. White dresses and show suits make up the final costuming. While they sing, Mickey, Minnie, Goofy, Donald, Brer Fox, and Brer Bear join them on stage, along with Chip and Dale. Cast sing: Now you've you've seen our land of dreams. A kingdom full of magical things. If you believe this song we sing, You may not want to leave.
